" Corrigan Brothers have been causing quite a stir on Good Morning Sunday recently! Ever since Aled featured 'There's No One As Irish As Barack Obama' there have been requests to hear more from the band. Well, for Easter, and especially for Good Morning Sunday, the Corrigan Brothers went into the studio to record Lord Of The Dance.
Gerard, Brian and Donncha who make up the Corrigan Brothers have been playing music together since childhood. But it wasn’t until 2008 and the song “There’s no one as Irish as Barack Obama” that they found international recognition. Following an appearance on the BBC1 Andrew Marr Show the brothers were given an invite to perform at President Barack Obama’s inauguration. As well as chart success, the Corrigan Brothers have attracted over 5 millon hits on youtube. They were introduced to the UK radio audience by none other than Aled Jones and Good morning Sunday, who followed it up with the worldwide premiere of the song “Jesus Freak”. The brothers have just completed their first album – and a copy “An Irish Man invented Rock and Roll” has been sent to President Obama. The brothers are currently planning a summer tour schedule that will see them play Ireland, the UK and USA."

  1. I appreciate the way you sing this, but when I sing it I interpret it a bit differently and change the tempo and mood to fit the words. Of course, I sing this in Church and I'm not trying to sell albums, but I do think there are sections of this piece that need more solemn and dark resonences.

  2. I am the anonymous commenter who wrote on May 16, 2009 at 6:00 am. After listening to your renditions again, I must retract what I said. The unrelenting, upbeat melody and tempo of your version is a strong commentary on the power of the message you are conveying. There is no need to be solemn over the triumph of good over evil. "Do not cover your light under a bushel basket, rather show it from the highest roof tops." You have done that. Congratulations.
